At Mike Stoane Lighting all our products are made in Scotland. We get a great deal of satisfaction from creating products ourselves from start to finish. We are passionate about making our own product locally.

There’s no such thing as a typical Mike Stoane Lighting project or a typical day at work for us. At any time we can be working on such diverse projects such as the huge custom chandeliers for Glasgow City Halls or a thousand beautifully engineered down-lights for Copenhagen Opera House. We are lucky enough to work with leading Lighting Designers and Architects on some fantastic projects which have allowed us to export our lights all over the world.

We believe in UK manufacture as the long term sustainable alternative to subcontracting overseas. The Chinese won’t be able to make cheap parts forever and we don’t want to fly our components around the world to be processed. Manufacturing locally is less damaging to the environment, the economy and the feeling of satisfaction we get from actually creating something.

Local manufacture allows flexibility and we have built a reputation for being adaptable and willing to make specials. Specials are a vital part of what we do; our work with Lighting Designers and Architects to create new and custom products is an important part of what drives us.
